Busting Myths about CO2 Capture and Storage: Address your questions directly to practitioners with hands on experience. Bellona Europa has put together an all-star line-up of world-renown experts to kick start a week of CCS events in Brussels.

Speakers include CEO of the Bellona Foundation Frederic Hauge, Mike Fernandez, Executive Director of Sustainable Energy at Alberta Energy, Bill Spence, Head of CCS at Shell, as well as high-level representatives of the full-scale Quest and Boundary Dam CCS projects in Canada, the Gorgon LNG project in Australia, and the CO2 storage operations at Snøhvit and Sleipner in Norway.

Without CCS, the costs of meeting emission reduction targets rise by 40% in the electricity sector, making it an essential component of an affordable low-carbon future. It is the sole technology able to decarbonise emissions-intensive industrial processes such as cement and steel production. And when combined with biomass, CCS provides the only large scale route for net negative emissions.
