This seminar will be a timely opportunity to assess the progress and way forward on the implementation of the Government's CCS strategy.

Following the selection of the two preferred bidders for the UK's CCS Commercialisation Competition, planned sessions look at the latest developments and next steps in designing, constructing and operating the technology.

Further discussion will move on to assess the wider supply chain, storage and infrastructure issues facing the successful deployment of CCS in the UK and the potential barriers to the development of a cost-competitive CCS industry post 2020 - with the publication of the CCS Cost Reduction Taskforce Final Report having identified opportunities for reducing costs across the entire CCS supply chain - in order to ensure that CCS technology becomes a major component of the UK's decarbonisation targets for 2050.
